40 under 40 From Excel, Minnesota Life's employee newsletter May 31,2001 As a group sales representative, she has generated $220 million in new life insurance premiums in five years.Amy Hennessey, Group Insurance, has made her mark in her profession and community. Twin Cities business publication CityBusiness designated her as part of its 2001 "Forty Under 40" edition. Candidates for the "Forty Under 40" designation are evaluated on the basis of their leadership in business, community involvement and business recognition. All 40 honorees were featured in the May 25 edition of CityBusiness. Amy, a DeWitt, Iowa native, earned a BS degree in psychology from Iowa State University. As an account executive, she closed the two largest group life insurance sales in the Company's history, the Virginia Retirement System ($100 million in annual premium) and the State of Illinois ($55 million in annual premium). "It's an honor to be recognized for both work accomplishments and community involvement. I think it's important to have that balance," Amy says. Amy spends her hours away from work coaching co-ed youth baseball and volunteering with her church and women's organizations. |
