Minnesota Life selects PricewaterhouseCoopers to provide financial counseling to group life beneficiaries St. Paul, MN, September 23, 2002 — Minnesota Life has chosen PricewaterhouseCoopers to offer free and independent financial counseling to beneficiaries of selected group universal and variable group universal life insurance policies. On the policies where the program is made available, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the world's leading professional services firms, will offer three levels of service to beneficiaries based on the amount of life insurance proceeds they receive. The program also applies to terminally ill employees receiving accelerated death benefits. The services provided by PwC include:
"We are making financial counseling available to clients because our service doesn't end with a payment," said Sue Ebertz, vice president, Minnesota Life group claims and underwriting. "We chose PwC to provide the financial counseling because they have the expertise to help beneficiaries make sound financial decisions without pressuring them to buy other financial products." "The sole concern of our financial counselors is the financial well being of the individuals they serve," affirmed Mark Bonner, partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers." They are experienced professionals trained in bereavement issues and mindful of the need for client confidentiality and the highest ethical standards." Minnesota Life, the country's ninth largest group insurer, pays nearly $300 million in group life and accelerated benefits claims annually. Contact: Maggie Jensen |
