Minnesota Life earns WV public employees group life contract St. Paul, MN, April 6, 2006 – Minnesota Life Insurance Company was selected to provide basic and optional group life benefits for 119,000 state and local government employees in West Virginia. The contract, which goes into effect July 1, is expected to provide approximately $5.3 billion in life insurance coverage for the public employees and their families. Minnesota Life also will create a local service presence with an office in Charleston, which will be up and running when the coverage goes into effect July 1.
With more than $400 billion of life insurance in force, Minnesota Life is one of the fastest-growing group life insurers in the U.S., rising from sixteenth largest in 1997 to sixth in 2004, according to a report published by A.M. Best. Respondents to recent customer surveys are 100 percent satisfied (a score of seven or higher out of ten) with the service they receive from Minnesota Life, a subsidiary of Securian Financial Group, Inc.
